First Day

The kids both got themselves up with their alarms this morning and our first day of school morning went very smoothly. Mia had a little trouble falling asleep last night. I think middle school nerves were getting the best of her.

Last night she said, "Mom, give me a pep talk." I told her she'd be fine and that once she got there with all of her friends she'd get over the nerves. Big changes for both of them. Thomas nodded when I asked him this morning if he was a little nervous...a mama can tell just by looking at her child's face.

Middle school. High school. Gosh. It hardly seems possible.
