This is what I found Wednesday when Mary Grace and Dayton came over to hang out with us. Two little girls, two beds, a comforter, and some things to anchor it with, and you have a "tent" to talk and giggle in.

These are some of Thomas' classmates at the 8th grade Back to School Swimming Party this evening. I still can't believe they are 8th graders. We went Wednesday and picked up Thomas' schedule. He tested into the 8th grade algebra class....we are proud of him for that. Hopefully he will be the math whiz in the family. It's not me, and it's not Warren. Sydney struggled a bit with math, too. Too early for me to know how Mia will fare with math, though she does seem to like it.

We didn't have as good a turn-out for the pool party this summer as in previous summers. It surprised me, too, since it was so hot today, I figured more kids would be there. I suppose some are on vacation. Hard to believe school starts a week from Wednesday. It doesn't really seem like we've had summer, since it has been a fairly mild one, temperature-wise. Mia and Thomas are usually really tanned by this time in the summer, with bleached out hair. We certainly haven't gotten to enjoy our own pool as much as we'd like. Supposed to be 100 tomorrow, so we'll get a few more good swim days out of it, hopefully.
