Book Club

Tonight was our first meeting of our newly formed book club. We met at Amy's. Not every member could be there, but we did have 6 in attendance for our discussion on Jane Austen's Persuasion. I was happy to learn that I wasn't the only one who struggled with it. A couple of gals didn't even make it past the first few pages/chapters. One gal was an English minor in college and had read it years ago, as had one other gal. It was interesting to hear their mutual discussion n it, though I could not contribute anything to it. Amy had prepared a delicious meal for us...a pasta/broccoli dish that she says she "pulled out of her ass," salad, bread, and delicious peanut butter pie for dessert. No one went away hungry.

Our next selection is A Thin Dark Line by Tami Hoag....much more my kind of book. I am hosting next month. I'll need to come up with something creative to make for the meal. Hopefully I won't have to pull anything out of my ass.
