What a perfect day for the 4th grade field trip to the capitol. We boarded the busses at 8:30 and arrived at the capitol in time for the first group's 9AM tour.

The kids listen to the tour guide in the House lounge. That's always my favorite part of the tour. I LOVE the Thomas Hart Benton paintings...the rich, beautiful colors and learning about the meaning behind each part.

Mia really thought the House Chamber was cool. She said, "Is this where they have court?"
Me and my baby girl. This is my last 4th grade capitol trip...I'll have no more 4th graders.....sigh....

We explored the museum in search for answers to the questions on our scavenger hunt.

We then went to Riverside Park for a picnic lunch. What a perfect day...sunny, warm and beautiful.

We had some time to play before returning to school.

Mia and her friends Janae and Ashley.
