And, of course, we had to get a funnel cake before we left. Who can leave the fair without getting one? $5.00 for 1 funnel cake!! I'm in the wrong business. I told the kids I could make about 100 funnel cakes myself for $5.00. Oh well, it was good.

Missouri State Fair 2008
We decided, on a whim, to go to the state fair today. Since the weather wasn't going to be typical 95+ degrees, we thought we'd take advantage of it. It was warm, though not unbearable like it usually is, and we weren't migrating to the air conditioned buildings as we usually do.

We took in one of the free shows.."Vocal Trash." Very entertaining. They are out of Texas and combine vocals/high energy performance, and instrumentals with trash cans, trash can lids, etc. It's loud and fun. Mia reported "my brain is going to fall out" and had her fingers over her ears part of the time. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Nate, Thomas and Sydney at the front gate. Does Thomas look like he's in pain? I think Sydney is squeezing the heck out of his arm.
Amy and Sydney and their Nicole Richie sunglasses.
Dayton and Sydney, after touring the RV display models, have decided that the Grovers and Blanchards should pool their funds and purchase one. They even went as far as to figure out who would sleep where, and decided that Uncle Dayton would be the driver. The RVs are nice, though quite expensive. I'd have to sell my house and live in the RV full time in order to afford it! Maybe I'll do that after I get the kids raised...that way I can just RV it to their houses to visit them whenever I feel like it!
Taking a break, watching the chainsaw carving exhibit.
Mia waiting for her lunch. Her little legs were so tired from all the walking, as she had gotten there a couple of hours before we did, since she rode with the Grovers. I had to keep reminding myself of that.
