Sunny, not to cold, not too hot, a little breezy...the perfect prom day. It was an insane day as well. It started out with Thomas' soccer game in Columbia at 9:15. They won, something like 13-0. We came back to Ashland to pick Sydney up and headed back to the mall. She needed clear nail polish and a clutch purse, and had a hair appointment at 2:00. Regis was crazy busy...I wonder how many "prom heads" they did yesterday. Lots of Ashland girls for sure...I don't know if other proms were being held yesterday, too. So, the hair took right at an hour. Mia and I were in and out of Regis to check the progress. We shopped a little and she played in the play area for a bit. With hair done and last minute necessities purchased, we headed back to Ashland. We packed her up with all her stuff and she went over to Katie's to get ready with her girlfriends. I jumped on the lawnmower and got the yard done. I had really let it go, and it was nearing ridiculous. But, got it all ship-shape. Then, came in, took a shower and waited for the call from Sydney letting me know I could head to Jeff City for pictures. Very little time to rest between! Mia and I loaded up after Sydney called and we zipped down to Jeff City to the Capitol building. When we pulled up, Sydney and the girls were just getting out of Katie's car. WOW. That's all I could say...as the goose bumps appeared on my arms. Is that my baby girl?! Even Mia said, "Oh, Mom, Sydney looks SO pretty!" (I'm sure she looks forward to the day when SHE gets to wear beautiful formals.) We got some nice pictures of the girls. It was fun to see all the passengers in the passing cars staring as they went by, horns honking. After pictures, a bunch of them left for dinner at Chili's.
Mia and I went to Ryan's for a girls dinner for 2, and then to Walmart to pick up a few things. (Thomas was at his friend Jay's all day.) We got home a little before 10 and we were wiped out. After we put the groceries away, she quickly fell asleep on the recliner. I waited up for Syd. She got home just before midnight. Sounds like she had great time.
Today will be a day of rest. We'll try to get this house back in order today. It rather looks like a tornado went through it.

Sydney is BEAUTIFUL!!! It's so unfair... I was such a gawky teenager, and she looks like a model! These pictures are gorgeous! What great kids you have!
