Family Night.

We all planned to go out to the house Saturday night for dinner. I made 3 big pans of chicken and rice. I had to take one pan out to the house to put in the oven there, since there wasn't enough room in my oven for all three. I was worried that I had made way too much, but it turns out we only had 5 drumsticks left. Kathy brought a big salad, Michael brought rolls, and Amy brought dessert. I had also put a big pot of Mom's home-canned green beans on to slow-cook for the afternoon. Dad commented while we were filling up our plates buffet style, "Seems like you went to an awful lot of trouble." I told him we were happy to do it and that it was easy, since everyone contributed.

The last two times we have all been there, there have been arm wrestling challenges. Little brother Jake on the right, beat big brother Adam on the left. Don't think big brother didn't take a lot of teasing about that.

I love this picture of my big brother...

and my little sister.

Amy and Adam. I know, at first glance it looks like Amy is flipping me off.

Michael and 2 of his 3 boys.

After dinner, we finished up on the thank you notes for all those who sent flowers, food, etc. The list seemed endless, but we got them done.

We are all settling back into "normal," I suppose. The month of December was simply a blur. It amazes me how it just "hits me" that Mom is gone. Yesterday when I was out at the house putting the chicken in the oven, I opened the utensil drawer looking for a spoon, and just started crying. I couldn't stop. I know this will get easier, but it is just so hard.
