Middle School Pep Assembly

The middle school had their fall pep assembly today. I am off work this week, so I got to attend.

The cheerleaders practiced their dance quietly as the students arrived to the gym.

My dance photos didn't really turn out. This is the only descent one, because the dance was a fast one, and most of the photos are really blurry.

The formation at the end of the dance. Look at that smile!

After that there were relay races between 6-8th grades, each class picking like 6 students to compete. The kids really got into cheering for their classmates. Then there was a dodge ball game between those same students and the middle school faculty, which was hilarious to watch.

Mrs. Rogers, the 8th grade reading teacher, also challenged the middle school to collectively read 1 million minutes by spring. She "did the math" and broke it down into exactly how many minutes each student needed to read in order to achieve the goal. When divided out into 300+ students, over the next weeks, it really is quite attainable. And the reward??? A trip to Silver Dollar City for the entire middle school, paid for by the school! How awesome is that? Mrs. Rogers really seemed to get the kids excited about it, and they started chanting, "YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!"

Sounds like a fun trip to chaperone!
