We had HOT weather the entire time we were there....upper 90s with heat indices in the 100s. It only rained once, and not for very long. As long as we were near the water we were okay.
The water was a bit "yucky." The kids learned from the guys that took them out parasailing that the green nastiness in the water was June grass. It grows in June and then gets washed up in July and August. Since the gulf has been so warm lately, it was a lot more prevelant. Luckily we had a day or two where it was clear water, and on the days it wasn't, we could walk out into the water to the clear spots. The water felt SO good in the heat.
