She must have "practiced" her locker combination a hundred times, but she finally got it figured out. Tonight was a practice run for 6th graders. They were there for 2 1/2 hours for "Boot Camp," where they practiced switching classes, going to their lockers, and learning the middle school routine. Middle school! Gosh, it doesn't seem possible.
Afterwards, they all got into the city pool for free for a back to school swim.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm not ready for summer to be over. We've had a great one. The kids got to go on 2 vacations, and we've enjoyed just not having a routine around here. It will be hard to get back into the swing of things, but I suppose we'll manage. We always do.

Boo! End of summer stinks! I LOVE summer! I wish it could be summer always... maybe it is, in Tucson, when I'm retired?
I love that they do boot camp. That's a great idea, to take away the first day jitters! Yay! Good luck, Mia!
