I heard the kids coming up the driveway on Wednesday and heard Mia say, "We got a package." Then I hear, "It's flowers!" She comes in carrying a great big box and says, "Mom! You got flowers!" I opened the box....(after making sure it wasn't addressed to someone else and got delivered to my house by mistake)....to find 2 dozen BeAuTiFul roses. They were from dear, sweet Nikki, a former co-worker/patient whom I helped deliver 1 year ago. Her son's first birthday was this past weekend and she was incredibly thoughtful to send me these roses and a very sweet card along with them. I must say this was a first for me. I've received many cards of thanks, flowers, candy, etc., from my Boone families, but NEVER have I been sent flowers on the baby's 1st birthday. I must say, it made my whole WEEK. I'll say it again...I have the best job in the world. It feels good to know that I make a difference in the lives of others.
I got called off from work today. I was hoping for it, as I really want to go to the Southern Boone football game tonight. We are 3-0, and will go up against Tipton tonight, who are also 3-0. Should be an exciting game. Hopefully I won't get called back in to work. My fingers and toes are crossed.
On the Bob and Tom Show this morning they were talking about some guy/somewhere who logged onto his Facebook account on the computer in a home he was burglarizing. He didn't log off. He's in jail now. Dumb ass. Serves him right.
Thomas cracked me up this morning on the way to school. "Mom, do they make dude shampoo?" A few years ago, he asked that I buy him shower gel or soap that wouldn't make him smell like a flower, so I did. Now he doesn't want his hair to smell like raspberries....or strawberries. Go figure. I'll see what I can do "dude."
