7 v 7

You gotta love Missouri weather. After two straight weeks of rain cancellations for Thomas' 7v7 soccer league, we finally got to play Tuesday night....in 100 degree heat. Don't forget the 50% humidity. Oh my GOD it was hot. I'm glad I had the sense to bring an umbrella and a cooler full of ice and water with washcloths. One of those washcloths soaked in ice water and placed around the neck made it just about tolerable. At halves and between games, Warren took one over to Thomas so he could cool down a bit. The second two games were a little better. The sun was going down and there was a little bit of a breeze. The boys played 3 games, but the refs cut the halves to 20 minutes because of the heat.
The boys did very well. They won 2 and lost 1. One of the teams they beat was a high school team. Not sure how old the other teams were. I just know that 90% of the opposing teams' players were bigger than our boys.

Thomas went straight from the car to our pool when we got home. The water was almost too warm and we put the hose in to freshen it up. It felt good though. After playing 3 games and then swimming, Thomas was wiped out.
At 10:30 he got a phone call. He couldn't resist his cousin Jonathon's invitation to the 12:10AM showing of Transformers 2. I was fine with letting him go see it, but warned Jonathon that Thomas might fall asleep during the movie. Thomas said it was a great movie and that he didn't fall asleep during it. He did, however, sleep until 1PM on Wednesday afternoon.
