Last Day

She was thrilled to find this graduation surprise on her bed when she got home from dance last night. She said she thought the trip to Chicago with her dad was her graduation present. Thomas created the message on the screen for her. I ordered the laptop and got a discount through Boone and had it shipped to Amy's office. I didn't want the surprise to be spoiled if it happened to arrive on a day when I was at work and Sydney was here.

Here she is on her LAST day of high school. It seems like I just blinked and here we are on this day. I don't know which was harder...her first day of kindergarten or her last day of high school. I love you so much, Sweet Girl, and I'm so proud of you.
Mia and I blew these balloons up last night while Sydney was at dance and hid them in Thomas' room. My intent was to fill up the entire car, but what I had only filled up the front seat.

This is what the parking lot at the high school looked like this morning. I drove up, thinking I would find Syd's car in this lot. Both entrances were blocked, one by this saw-horse, the other by a car. There have been parking issues all year long, and this is supposed to be a junior/senior lot, but Syd says all the sophomores park there anyway. I guess the seniors decided to make a point. Several cars were parked sideways, blocking 2 spaces, etc. I found Sydney's car in the back lot.
I had a "tiny little heart attack" this morning when I saw the police car racing toward the high school with the siren on. Of course, as a mom, you think the worst. I sent Syd a text and asked if everything was okay. I was relieved to receive, "yeah we're fine...no problems here."
