First of all, the drive to South Callaway, which is normally very boring and long...was absolutely beautiful this evening. Mia and I left a bit early, following the team buses to Mokane. The sunset was breathe-taking, and the way it shone on the bluffs/trees made everything look like it was glowing pink/orange. The sky was blue/orange/pink, and Mia and I decided that part of the sky looked like pink cotton candy. I know, I know, where was my camera? I had it, but decided not to stop. I didn't think photos would do it justice anyway.
The 7th grade boys lost by 5, but the 8th grade boys won something like 34-2. Thomas' team put up a good fight, and the game was pretty even up until the 4th quarter, when South Callaway pulled away. Thomas played the ENTIRE game. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Good, because, who doesn't want their kid to get good playing time....or bad....because he was so darned tired after the game? I know he'll sleep good tonight.
One of his team mates, Calvin, turned 13 today. His mom brought brownies for the team to celebrate!
